Reference:
Customer: Means the person or company for whom the work is carried out

Quotes

Where a written quotation has been supplied to the customer, the charge to the customer may be revised if:

  • After submission of the quotation, the customer whether orally or written, is to carry out additional work which is not quoted for in the original quotation.
  • If after the quotation, there is an increase in the price of materials
  • If after submission of the quotation it is discovered that further works need to be carried out which were not anticipated when the quotation was prepared.
  • If after submission of the quotation it is discovered that there was an error when the quotation was prepared.

Estimates
Estimates supplied to our customers may be revised in the following circumstances:

  • If after submission of the estimate the Customer instructs Flatley Heating Ltd (whether orally or in writing) to carry out additional works not referred to in the estimate
  • If after submission of the estimate, there is an increase in the price of materials
  • If after submission of the estimate, it is discovered that further works need to be carried out which were not anticipated when the estimate was prepared.
  • If after submission of the estimate it is discovered that there was an error when the estimate was prepared

We shall not be bound by any estimates given orally or in which specification errors occur

Payments:
Invoices are due for payment immediately upon completion of the works and invoice received. Only if agreed with Flatley Heating Ltd can payment be extended to be made within 7 days.
Flatley Heating Ltd reserves the right to request payments in a method which best suits our company. This is BACS transfers, cash, and cheques. Cheques must be made out to Flatley Heating Ltd.

When work is carried out by Flatley Heating Ltd for a third party/partnership/limited company, the customer shall accept sole liability for any payment of work/materials or costs unless she/he discloses to Flatley Heating Ltd when initially instructing Flatley Heating Ltd and receiving a written quote/estimate, in the name of the third party which appears on the written estimate or quote

VAT
All charges are subject to VAT at the current rate, except in cases where the work carried out is zero rated

Stage Payments:
For larger projects or where a significant delay between the first fix and the second fix, or where there is a significant cost for materials prior to the work commencing, we may ask for an upfront staged payment to cover the cost of these materials.

Flatley Heating Ltd reserves the right to void a contract whether written or verbally agreed should the customer fail to meet a set interim payment that has been requested. Payment for works carried out to date will be required in full. Failure to make an agreed payment could result in the account being passed on to a debt recovery agent.

General:
If the Customer cancels their instructions prior to any work being carried out then Flatley Heating Ltd will seek all reasonable costs in the event of the Customer cancelling.

Where our engineer or plumber discovers an unforeseen issue that will affect the overall result of the job the customer will be verbally notified prior to the commencement to agree on the action to be taken to resolve the unforeseen issue. If the customer has agreed for Flatley Heating Ltd to carry out additional work to rectify the issue additional costs may be applicable.

Where the date or time for works to be carried out is agreed by the Company with the Customer, then the Company shall use its best endeavours to ensure that the plumber / Engineer shall attend on the date & at the time agreed and also in the arrangements for the delivery of materials in order to carry out the agreed works.

The Guarantee shall be for labour only in respect of faulty workmanship for 12 months from the date of completion with the manufacturer’s warranty in force. Flatley Heating Ltd will take no responsibility for any manufacturer warranty/guarantee that has not been registered by the customer on completion unless it has been agreed clearly with the customer for Flatley Heating Ltd to register this.
The guarantee will become void if any products or work has been subject to misuse or negligence, repaired, tampered with, or modified by any other company/persons.

On occasions floorboards/carpets/ maybe required to be removed or lifted. Although we at Flatley Heating will do our best to assure carpets/floorboards are not damaged and refitted to the best of our skills, this cannot be guaranteed. Flatley Heating Ltd takes no liability for such items if damaged or not refitting back in place as before work was carried out.
Flatley Heating Ltd will accept no liability for, or guarantee the suitability, of materials supplied by the Customer & will accept no liability for any consequential damage or fault.

Should a water leak occur after the work has been completed, Flatley Heating Ltd must be notified within 12 hours. The customer should be seen doing their best to reduce as much further damage as possible, eg – turning off the main water supply, moving any furniture away from the wet area, soaking water from the wet carpet with towels/ mop, and removing water from the floor. If no such measures are taken by the customer, Flatley Heating Ltd will not take responsibility for any repairs and will only rectify the original work carried out.

The customer shall be solely liable for any hazardous situation in respect of Gas Safe Regulations or Gas Warning Notice issued.

Engineers operate under their own Gas Safety Registration & as such are solely responsible for any Gas-related work & subsequent liability.
